Wordle is a toy for generating word clouds from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
Use LetterPop to create eye-popping newsletters, actionable presentations, irresistible invitations, beautiful product features, sizzling event summaries, informative club updates, lovely picture collages, and a whole lot more.
This is an on-demand broadcast site that contains over 1300 professionally-created video clips for all different content areas. They're free!

You can modify this template to meet your own needs. Save it to your classroom computer's "H" drive at school, and you will never have to do a paper version again! If you need help setting up or modifying the template, let me know. It's a breeze to add new students to the list and to sort the information alphabetically.
Create your own Jeopardy PowerPoint Games to use in the classroom. What a fantastic teaching tool! My students love this game. I use "Monopoly Money" during the game. Students become very competitive. I break my class up into 2 teams to play the game. When one team answers my question correctly, they receive the dollar value of the question. If they answer incorrectly, they must give back the money. I suggest you close your classroom door when you play because the students can get very noisy while playing!
Here is the Jeopardy Template for those of you who do not wish to create your own game. Just insert pictures or words into the slides. Remember do not make any changes to the hyperlinks, or the game will not work properly. You can customize the template by changing the slide design or the font. You can even add animation! Remember to save your game to your "H" drive or a flashdrive. If you need help, let me know.
Great teaching tool to review the past tense- both regular and irregular. You'll have to do a lot of mouse clicking to get to the game. When you see the Jeopardy board, you will need to click twice on the dollar amounts to view the clue. To reveal the correct answer, click on the clue. To return to the money board, click on the light blue square in the lower left corner.
There is even a quiz that students can take at the end of the PowerPoint.
Jobs, Worksheets, and Flashcards for the ESL and TEFL Teacher. This site has many activities.
Cute game to practice parts of speech- from easy to difficult.
Ever wondered how to insert a tilda or an accent mark over a letter? Here is a great reference sheet to learn how to insert a wide variety of symbols into a document.
This is really meant for students, but teachers might find it useful. Learn basic keyboard shortcuts.

This guide is also located on the "T" drive at school. Look for the ESL Technology Folder, open it and click on the guide. During the first couple of sessions of computer lab, I like to show it to the students. You can use the projector and screen in Room 11 to show the guide to your class. There is also a Side by Side Student Guide available. It's in the same folder as the Rosetta Stone Guide. Unfortunately the file was too large to upload to this site.
Rosetta Stone Student Workbook Level 1: We have a class set of this workbook that students can use during computer lab time. The activities can be used as review. Please remind students that they cannot write in the books. I spoke with Melanie, and she is going to arrange for a storage cabinet to be placed in Room 11. It will have a key. She suggested we keep the key in the teacher's desk. We just have to make sure that the workbooks don't go home with the students! I'll let you know when the books will be available in Room 11.

I used this orientation PowerPoint in my L/S class with much success. The students seemed to like it. You can customize the PowerPoint for your own class. Just save it to your "H" drive and then you can make any necessary changes. I included a slide about what to do in the event of an emergency at Melanie's request. My students and I spent over an hour on the PowerPoint and going through the FAS website on the first day of class. If you need help customizing the powerpoint, let me know and I can help you.
This program provides unlimited practice in many languages!
