    Orienting Students to Online Learning - Feb 3, 2015 3:00-4:30pm
    This meeting provides a forum to talk with other online teachers to discuss strategies and approaches to orienting students to become successful online learners. From low literacy students to CTE, all students need a solid understanding of what to expect in an online course. Come and talk among your peers about current research on best practices for preparing students to be successful online learners. Materials and relevant Web sites will be shared and reviewed.  
     
    Creating a High Quality Course Online -  Feb 10, 2015 3:00-4:30pm
    In this short workshop, review the six basic areas of creating a well-designed online course. Review specific guidelines on creating good content, principles of instructional design, elements of student assessment, technology requirements, course evaluation and management, and the implementation of 21st century skills within your course. Short discussions on each area will be encouraged and rubrics to measure a current or future course will be provided.

  • Burlington English Discussion Moodle Course!

  • EL Civics Moodle Course Online coming July 2014

    The EL Civics Moodle Course is designed for Intermediate High to Advanced Level students though the Distance Learning Program. This new course will be offered in the Summer Session Part II in 2014.
     
    Topics include:

    Security (summer 2014)
    Academic and Career Goals (Summer 2014)
    Employment

  • Distance Learning Mini Lab for Online Learning

    The Distance Learning Mini lab in Room 3 is open to students studying in our program. The lab is equipped with 4 iPads, 7 Chromebooks, 4 laptops, 1 desktop computer, Apple TV, an LCD projector, and a document camera.
    You may bring your own mobile device!
     
    Office hours are posted here. The lab will be used for Moodle students and students enrolled in USA Learns. Students may make appointments to meet with the teacher to get online support.

  • ALOE 2013/14

    The Fremont Adult School Distance Learning Program is happy to announce that we will receive an ALOE extension in the amount of $11,111 for the 2013/14 SY. The funds will be used to continue our blended classes, Moodle courses, and add Chromebooks to our mini Distance Learning Lab for online learning!

    Sharon Ram participated in OTAC (Online Teaching Academy) from 2012-2013. Sharon's goal was to adapt a part of ABE Transitions Moodle course, Job Preparation Skills, for Advanced ESL students.
